Position Details: Process Engineer - Papermaking Experience Required

Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled Process Engineer with papermaking experience to join our operations team. This role is critical in driving process improvements, supporting production efficiency, and ensuring product quality across our tissue manufacturing lines. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, data-driven, and comfortable working in a dynamic mill environment.
Please note: travel and/or temporary relocation to other ST Tissue sites may be required to support operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Optimize production processes and chemical applications to improve efficiency, quality, and throughput
- Lead equipment and process trials, analyze results, and implement best practices
- Monitor and adjust process parameters using data from DCS and QCS systems
- Collaborate with production, maintenance, and quality teams on daily operations and improvement projects
- Assist with troubleshooting and root cause analysis of process issues
- Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement
- Maintain accurate documentation of trials, findings, and process standards
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a paper mill or tissue manufacturing environment (required)
- Strong technical knowledge of papermaking processes, chemical systems, and equipment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with data analysis and process control
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working on-site in a mill environment, including weekends as needed
Preferred
- Experience with Lean/Six Sigma or continuous improvement methodologies
- Familiarity with DCS/QCS systems and equipment troubleshooting
