Purchasing Manager
Reports to: Corporate Purchasing Manager
Overtime status: Exempt
Summary of Position
ST Tissue located in Franklin, Virginia is looking for a purchasing manager. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of manufacturing purchasing experience and be able to perform procurement duties in a high paced environment while searching for better deals and more profitable suppliers. Salary is based upon experience and the job duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Duties & Responsibilities
- Comparing costs, quality, reliability, and technical support
- Negotiating purchase agreements to secure favorable terms
- Developing and maintaining inventory controls based on current market lead time and conditions
- Ensuring compliance with procurement rules and regulations
- Purchasing goods and services necessary for the company’s operations
- Evaluating quality, price, and availability
- Conduct market research to identify new suppliers
- Develop an effective system for monitoring purchase orders
- Ensure timely delivery of orders and report any back-ordered or missing product
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Good attention to detail and ensure all purchase orders are accurate
- Verifies purchase requisitions by comparing items requested to the master list and recommend alternatives
- Manages purchases by forwarding orders to suppliers and monitoring and expediting as needed
- Manage local purchases
- Resolve invoice disputes in a timely manner
- Support maintenance planning
Qualifications
- 5+ years of manufacturing purchasing experience
- Able to perform procurement duties in a high paced environment while searching for better deals and more profitable suppliers

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:
- Frequently: Stand, lift up to 10 pounds, walk, ascend and descend stairs/ladders, and use keyboard and calculator
- Occasionally: Lift up to 20 pounds, sit, bend at the waist, crouch (bend from the knees), reach above and below the shoulders, use foot controls, and make visual determinations regarding color changes, adjust focus, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
